Dr M Dylan Bould

Chair Board of Trustees
Dylan is a consultant anesthesiologist at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa, Canada and a professor of anesthesia and medical education at the University of Ottawa. He's been involved in supporting anesthesia training in Zambia since 2011. He is also on the Board of the Canadian Anesthesiologists Society International Education Foundation at past-Chair and serves on the Council of the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesia.
Dr Lesley Crichton

Vice-chair of Board of Trustees
Lesley is a consultant in Anaesthetics and Critical Care, based in Tayside, Scotland. She was resident in Zambia for two years from 2017 – 2019 where she worked with her Zambian colleagues to develop the programme. She continues to be actively involved from a distance. She is Professional Advisor to the NHS Scotland Global Citizenship Programme, Remote Educational Supervisor for the Royal College of Anaesthetists, and has a Master’s in Global Health.
Dr Emma Coley

Emma took part in ZADP as a senior trainee in 2015, spending 6 months working in the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka. Having been involved in teaching and recruitment since her return Emma has recently been appointed as ZADP Co-Director. In 2018 Emma introduced military trainee placements to the program. She represents GADP and the military on the Global Partnerships Committee at the Royal College of Anaesthetists. In an education role Emma is Deputy Regional Advisor for Defence Anaesthesia.
Dr Jayne Sutherland

Jayne is a paediatric anaesthetic consultant in the Children's Hospital for Wales. She spent 6 months of her OOPE working as a senior teaching Fellow in Zambia and was lucky enough to support anaesthesia training in Lusaka, the Copperbelt and Zimba during her stay. Since returning to the UK she has continued to support friends and colleagues in Zambia through distant mentorship and remote teaching opportunities and working as a trustee for GADP.

Tom Gray

GADP Trustee
Tom is an innovation and strategy consultant, originally from South Africa, now based in London. He is Chief Strategy Officer and Board Member for The Imagination Group, a global design consultancy; an Associate of the Imperial College Business Design Studio; and an Expert in Residence at the Imperial Enterprise Lab where he advises start-ups, scale-ups and non-profits on strategy, product, brand and marketing.
Evelyn Marshall FCCA

Treasurer
Evelyn is a Fellow of The Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. She has years experience working in various finance roles in commercial organisations and is currently specialising in business systems and budgetary control. She is focused on value added and works closely with the GADP team ensure this is achieved on the various programmes.

Emma is a paediatric anaesthetist at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton. She has spent 5 years working in under resourced hospitals in Zambia, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa and Vietnam.

Dr Abel Mwale

Dr. Abel Mwale is Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care with experience in both the public and private sectors. He is a fellow of CANECSA (College of Anaesthesiologists of East, Central and Southern Africa). He is the council member and country representative of CANECSA where he also serves on the examinations committees.
Dr Sonia Akrimi

GADP Trustee / Director of ZADP
Sonia is a Director of the Zambia Anaesthesia Development Program and a Founding Trustee of GADP and Lead for Fundraising. She spent a year in Zambia as a Senior ZADP Fellow and Academic Lead of the postgraduate anaesthesia and critical care training programme at the University of Zambia (2016-2017). Sonia also sits on the Education Committee of the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists and in that role supports many education and research activities globally.

Helen is an ST6 trainee in Anaesthesia & Intensive Care Medicine in the South-West Peninsula. She has had an interest in global health since medical school, with student placements and volunteer roles in Zambia, Samoa, and Madagascar. In 2022 she undertook a 6-month OOPE as a senior fellow with ZADP, working in Lusaka and Ndola. Since returning to training in the UK she has continued to support the program through a committee role (advocating for training in Ndola, as well as support with grants and fundraising for the charity), and making the occasional appearance delivering remote teaching.

Dr Anna Janowicz

Director of EADP
Anna is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals. Her interest in global health started in medical school when she got involved in advocacy for healthcare access for refugees and also travelled to Ghana and Thailand for her electives. In 2015 Anna went to Lusaka for six months to support MMed Anaesthesia Program as a ZADP fellow. She taught on SAFE courses in Zambia, Nepal and India. She has also completed MSc in Global Health with Health Professions Education at King’s College London.

Haramaya University department head of Anaesthesiology, Aman established a new residentship in Anaesthesia, expanded existing ICU & handling pandemic in the country during Covid19. Aman currently teaches more than 16 residents from 1st -3rd year.

Anaesthetic registrar based in London, has been involved with the EADP in country and remotely since 2021. Learned a lot from experiences in Addis Ababa and hopes to contribute something back. Believes Ethiopian coffee is still the best in the world!

Dr Talitha de Vries

EADP Committee Member
Talitha is a specialty registrar in anaesthetics and intensive care medicine in Oxford, United Kingdom. She studied medicine at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, graduating in 2013. In 2019 she spent six months in Addis Ababa as the first senior global anaesthesia development fellow, helping to set up a simulation program and an anaesthetic novice training program for the local residents. She has an interest in paediatrics, having done a year in paediatric ICU and retrieval and helping develop the digital SAFE paeds course, as well as in sustainability. Outside of work, Talitha enjoys travelling and spending time in the outdoors.
